On December 6, 2018, prof. Luo Jingjia, world-renowned climatologist, expert of the national thousand talents plan and director of ICAR/NUIST, was invited to give a special speech to the faculty and students from School of Atmospheric Sciences. Dean and prof. Chen Haishan, Vice Dean and prof. Xu Haiming and other faculty members attended the lecture.
Prof. Luo mainly introduced the main research focuses of ICAR/NUIST: climate dynamics research, climate model development, climate prediction and forecast, and climate application. After introducing the establishment, status quo and future demand for talents of ICAR/NUIST, Prof. Luo extended invitations for domestic and overseas scholars to join the institute and conduct cooperative research.
Prof. Luo also gave a brief introduction of his own research experiences and major achievements, and had an in-depth and detailed exchange on frontier science issues and the construction of the research institute with participants.
