ICAR/NUIST Symposium on ENSO Prediction, Ocean Interactions and Effects

On December 9th 2018, ICAR/NUIST held a symposium on ENSO Prediction and Ocean Interactions and Effects in Nanjing. 

Distinguished participants are: Dr. Zhou Tianjun, Dr. Yu Yongqiang and Dr. Zheng Fei, researchers from IAP/CAS; Dr. Feng Guolin, Dr. Li Weijing, researchers from National Climate Center of CMA; Zhang Qiang, Director of Gansu Meteorological Bureau; Prof. Fei Jianfang and Prof. Zhong Zhong from National University of Defense Technology; Prof. Liu Qinyu and Prof. Zhang Shaoqing from Ocean University of China; academician and Prof. Wang Huijun, Prof. Luo Jingjia from NUIST, and vice presidents of NUIST, Prof. Guan Zhaoyong, Prof. Jiang Zhihong and Prof. Zhou Weican;  leaders from the School of Atmospheric Sciences of NUIST, Prof. Chan Haishan and Prof. Xu Haiming.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Zhang Xinchang, director of Science and Technology Department of NUIST. Vice President and Prof. Zhou expressed heartfelt thanks and warm welcome to all the experts and leaders, and expressed congratulations on the establishment of ICAR and the opening of this symposium.

At the symposium, researchers of Dr. Li Weijing from the National Climate Center of CMA, Dr. Zhou Tianjun and Dr. Yu Yongqiang from IAP/CAS, and Prof. Zhang Shaoqing from Ocean University of China delivered wonderful speeches on their research work. Prof. Luo Jingjia, director of ICAR/NUIST gave a closing speech on the introduction and future vision of ICAR/NUIST.

After the speeches, experts had a heated discussion on several academic frontier issues and made suggestions for the development of ICAR/NUIST. Academician and prof. Wang Huijun pointed out some instructive advices.
